The Start of it All.....Wigs "N" Weaves

Hello, hello, hello!!! Chauntell here at your service. My big sister Quanessa asked me to join her in her blogging adventures and I happily accepted.
So for my first entry I wanted to talk about something that is near and dear to my heart. WIGS and WEAVES! I fell in love with fake hair when I was maybe about 14 years old. At the highschool I went to, if you didn't have your hair done then you weren't about much and with the popularity of  R&B songstress Aaliyah, the thirst to have her famous hairstyle was real.  So because I wanted to fit in I decided to teach myself how to install my own weave. Back then it was all about glueing in your tracks. I'm talking about parting your hair and glueing that bad boy right on the scalp. Oh the choices we've made. In the late 90's early 2000's the cost of a pack ten to twelve inches of yaki hair was about $10-$15, so it was fairly easy for a young teenage girl to afford to do their own hair.  Which brings me to  the cost of wigs and weave these days. Now you can pay upwards of $200 a bundle when it comes to purchasing hair maybe even more but I'll never find out because I like to do my research when deciding on what hair to buy.
YouTube is my go to when I'm trying to figure out what company to buy from. This time around I set my sites on a wig company that I kept hearing about and for months I would stalk it on it's web page. Plotting and planning, until one day I finally got up enough courage to click that BUY button. I had to wait a few weeks for it to arrive but I had to chalk that up to the vacation that the company took due to the Chinese New Year, but when I heard that knock at the door I could not contain myself. I was absolutely sure that I had made the right decision in choosing this wig. I mean, I had done all of my research right? Well.... I was right! I bet you thought I was going to have something negative to say huh? Well no. I hardly have anything bad to say about this thing. It is by far the best wig I have ever owned in my life. And I've owned a bunch of wigs.
I ended up getting the Italian Yaki full lace glueless wig with silk top base from AprilLaceWigs.com.
This thing is the best texture and cap construction I have ever experienced. In it's natural state it mimics African American hair when it's blown out after a fresh shampoo and it straightens magnificently. It's soft to the touch and it takes a curl like no other. I could go on and on about this wig but this is getting a bit long so I'll wrap up by saying this, If you're ever thinking about buying extensions or a wig make sure you do your research. Look for company reviews on YouTube and see what people are saying about it. Tangling, shedding and cost are among some of the things you should be concerned about when making your decision. Remember, wigs or extensions should last you at least a year with proper care. And of course, if you want quality you have to be willing to shell out some cash but it's the price to pay for beauty. That's all for now. Ciao Bella!
